This two piece apothecary cupboard is made of oak and still has it's original finish dating from the 1880's. The condition is very good and just as I found it. The old surface just needs a bit of cleaning and some oil. This 2 piece cupboard has a nice ledge front where the top sits on the bottom. Another plus is the wonderful cast iron drawer pulls on the 9 drawers in the base. The bottom of the base has a great scalloped cut consistent with this time period. The inside shelves adjust to different heights like most bookcases do.
This Apothecary Cupboard came from a very small town south of Springfield IL. The original varnish is crazed to tell you it is right and authentic.
If you are wondering why the dark blobs around the drawer pulls ..... they were dusty and I wiped them off with a wet towel and the wet showed up in the pictures. Oh well.... The lighter pictures look most like the cupboard. The darker pictures were taken with an older camera. It is a wonderful Appothecary with out any problems! Very RARE!!
